Homemade foot care products such as masks, creams and scrubs can work wonders. They are natural, cheap and you can make them yourself in your own bathroom or kitchen. DIY ("do it yourself"), that is: do it yourself and see how homemade foot care products will soften their skin, smooth it and regenerate it after a hard day.
Homemade foot cosmetics - you need to spend some time preparing them. It is worth doing it, because both scrubs, as well as homemade masks and bath lotions are really effective. For this natural, nice-scented and much cheaper than cosmetics bought at a drugstore. Here are the most popular DIY foot cosmetics, i.e. cosmetics made by yourself.
Making homemade foot care products does not require specialized equipment (sometimes a blender or mixer is enough). Most of the products you will need can be found at your local grocery store or at a pharmacy.
Masks are cosmetics with a concentrated amount of valuable substances. Applying them at least once a week to your feet will keep the skin nourished, smooth and fresh. Foot masks can exfoliate, moisturize and regenerate. It is up to you to choose one of them.
After the homemade mask is ready, put it on your feet and leave it for 15-20 minutes. To increase the effect, you can wrap your feet in kitchen foil for this time, or put on socks and go to sleep, and wash the mask off in the morning.
Moisturizing mask
Take 100 g of cottage cheese, 4 tablespoons of plain yogurt, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and mix everything thoroughly. Apply the mixture on the feet, and after washing it - use a lotion or cream.
Mask for cracked heels
To prevent the skin from cracking, cook 2 potatoes together with the skin, mash them and mix with milk (1-2 tablespoons) and yolk. When the mush has cooled down a little, put it on your feet.
If your heels are already cracked, dip them in a mask of overcooked linseed or petroleum jelly. To do this, add the oil from 6 capsules of vitamin E and a few drops of tea oil to 6 tablespoons of petroleum jelly heated very briefly in a microwave or a saucepan.
Leave the mask on your feet until it is absorbed (you can do the treatment at bedtime, put on your socks and leave the mask on overnight).
Regenerating mask
Mix 3 bananas with 2 tablespoons of yogurt or homogenized cheese and apply to the skin of the feet.
You can also use oatmeal, which is full of valuable substances. Mix them with a little warm milk or yogurt and a tablespoon of honey and leave on the skin for a quarter of an hour.
Avocados also have many advantages. A mask made of this vegetable nourishes and moisturizes the skin. Mash a soft avocado with 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt and leave it on for 20 minutes, wrapping the feet in foil.
Exfoliating mask
1/4 cup almonds, mix with the same amount of oatmeal. Crush everything in a blender. Add 3 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of honey.
You can also use an egg, a glass of yogurt and the same amount of lemon juice to soften and remove calluses. Mix the ingredients in a large bowl, add the contents of two capsules with vitamin E. The mass will be quite liquid, so do not put it on your feet, but dip it in.
You can also apply an exfoliating mask made of citric acid and paraffin oil at night, which has the properties of removing dead skin. Take 5 tablespoons of any urea cream, add 4 tablespoons of kvass, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and a few drops of paraffin oil. Mix ingredients.
Mask for tired feet
In summer, after a day's work, brew the chamomile and let it cool down. Chop a bunch of parsley, mint leaves and combine everything with the infusion. You can replace the chamomile tea with milk (half a glass is enough).
Homemade foot cosmetics: peelings
Their primary task is to smooth the skin and remove dead epidermis. However, peels also improve blood circulation, regenerating the skin and nourishing its every cell. They will work well after bathing, as the next step in foot care. For peels, we can use substances with a crystalline structure that will have an abrasive effect during the massage.
Massage the peeling into the skin for a few minutes, then leave it on the body for a while and then rinse it off. After peeling, it is worth applying a balm to the feet - it is better absorbed then.
For very calloused epidermis
Coarse-grained peels, e.g. with sea salt, are recommended for very hard lesions, e.g. on the heels. To half a glass of salt, add 2 tablespoons of cream and any essential oil, e.g. lavender. Instead of cream, you can add olive oil to the salt. Rub the mixture on your feet, especially where the callous epidermis is extremely thick.
For the skin that is not too hard
Mix fine sugar with half a teaspoon of cinnamon and 2 tablespoons of honey. Massage your feet for about 5 minutes. You can also make a poppy seed peeling - add 1 tablespoon of sugar and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to 1/3 cup of seeds.
To remove calloused epidermis, you can also use brown sugar or finely ground oatmeal. Take two tablespoons of these products, add a tablespoon of honey, lemon juice and a little olive oil to them.
Dead skin cells are also effectively removed by ground coffee. To take advantage of its properties, take two tablespoons of coffee, three honey, and a tablespoon of olive oil. Mix the ingredients and massage them on your feet.
To smooth the skin
To 2 tablespoons of honey, add a teaspoon of cinnamon and a tablespoon of brown, ground or fine sugar. This peeling has a smoothing and antibacterial effect. In order for the homemade foot care product to nourish and refresh the skin of the feet in addition to smoothing it out, add 3 lemons, mint leaves and 1 tablespoon of olive oil to 3 tablespoons of sugar, and then blend all the ingredients. Apply to feet and massage gently.
Creams that should be applied every day, especially after bathing or peeling treatments, are also useful for foot care. You can make the cream at home if you have the right ingredients. It's best to prepare a small amount of the cosmetic so that you don't have to store it - without preservatives it can be difficult.
Nourishing cream
Mix 6 tablespoons of shea butter with 5 tablespoons of olive oil and 5 tablespoons of coconut oil. Add a few drops of fragrance oil to give the cosmetic a nice aroma. Stir with a mixer and put the mass in the fridge for half an hour. Then rub it on your feet.
Moisturizing cream
Mix shea butter, vitamin A ointment and coconut oil in equal proportions and apply skin to us - preferably at night, protecting your feet with socks.
