Facial cleansing is the most important stage of care, which should consist of two stages. The first one is make-up removal, that is, getting rid of makeup remnants, but also dust and other impurities that have "settled" on the face throughout the day. It should be made with an oil, milk or micellar liquid. The next step is skin cleansing, i.e. washing with a gel, foam or other dedicated product. It is worth paying a lot of attention to this activity and making a habit, because regular cleansing not only removes makeup, but also reduces pores, removes dead skin, brightens the skin and generally just does it good! And where is the place to remove eye makeup in all this? This is often problematic because the skin around the eyes is very delicate, some cleansing products often irritate the eyes or sensitize.
Make-up removal for the eyes and the surrounding area - how to do it so as not to irritate the delicate skin?
There are many ways to remove eye makeup. This can be done with cleansing oil or gel, or with cotton pads, but the eye makeup removal technique remains the same. Our cosmetologist points out that the appropriate technique "allows for thorough cleansing without irritating the sensitive and thin skin around the eyes. The movements should be gentle, circular, do not rub or stretch the skin.
How to make eye makeup remover step by step? “The first step is to apply cosmetic pads soaked with a make-up remover or lukewarm water to the eyelids, in case of using a hydrophilic oil, washing gel or other product. Then, briefly massage the eyelid with only your fingertips, making circular movements on the pad, thanks to which the makeup is thoroughly dissolved, then gently remove the remains of makeup with successive petals, going from top to bottom, from the eyelid to the eyelash tips. We remove the residues from the lower lash line from the outer to the inner corner of the eye, ”explains the cosmetologist.
Eye makeup removal - how to do it?
There is a large selection of facial cleansing products on the market. Unfortunately, cosmetics often sensitize and irritate when they come into contact with the eyes. Our cosmetologist pays attention to the fact that eye make-up removal should be performed with products intended for this purpose. “Let's get a good-quality preparation, preferably based on natural active ingredients, with a mild formula, while whether we reach for milk, micellar water or oil is a very individual matter. Make-up removers with a delicate, oil-free formula are recommended for people who wear lenses or false eyelashes. On the other hand, the hydrophilic oil is a good solution for people who do not want to buy separate eye and face make-up removers. Thanks to the content of natural oils, it gently and thoroughly cleanses, easily removing even stronger or waterproof makeup and at the same time cares, softens and smoothes the demanding skin around the eyes, ”advises the cosmetologist.
Eye makeup removal - what mistakes do we most often make?
Eye makeup removal is not such a simple matter, and we point out two mistakes that we regularly make. The first is to remove makeup excessively or forget about it at all. “We often give it up while cleaning our face and eye area with a facial cleansing product, or we do it too superficially. In both cases, the make-up is not completely removed and the residues of shadows, mascara and pencils can cause irritation and redness of the eyes. Another thing that we often do is remove eye makeup too much. "Strongly rubbing and stretching the delicate, thin skin around the eyes strains it and accelerates the formation of wrinkles," warns the cosmetologist. Remember to gently but thoroughly cleanse your eyes. This is essential when it comes to skincare.
