How to dry and straighten hair so as not to damage it? Learn how to easily take care of your hair so that hot styling does not involve drying and split ends.
Hot styling is one of the biggest enemies of healthy hair. However, if we can not give it up, it is worth following a few rules that will make these treatments safer. Hair is subjected to different styling methods every day - drying, curling, straightening. Unfortunately, wanting to improve their appearance, we make them dry and weakened. Treating hair with high temperatures results in brittleness, dulling and split ends. As a result of these treatments, the tips are so damaged that they crumble, preventing hair from growing. Although we are aware of the negative impact of hot styling, we often forget to protect hair from high temperatures.
How to dry your hair so as not to damage it?
Even if we do not style the hair, we often have to reach for the dryer, in many cases even daily. It is worth investing in a dryer that has temperature control and hair ionization function.
How to straighten and curl your hair safely?
Safe curling and straightening is a myth. There is no magic way that would make styling with a hot device not negatively affect the condition of our hair. You should definitely not use these devices on a daily basis, but only occasionally. Remembering a few simple rules, we can minimize the effects of hot hair styling.
First of all, when buying a curler or straightener, choose the one that has temperature control to be able to use lower temperatures. It is necessary to dry the hair before starting styling. Naturally, natural drying is the healthiest, but if you don't have time for it, dry your hair with a dryer. Contact with a hair straightener or dryer with wet hair could result in burning.
When the hair is dry, we divide it into strands and each thoroughly cover with a layer of thermo-protective cosmetics that will surround the hair with a protective film and protect the hair against temperature. Then, with strands, straighten or curl your hair, making sure that their contact with the hot surface is as short as possible.
Hair care after styling
After styling hot hair, we usually apply products to finish the hair and keep it in check - i.e. polishing sprays, silicone mists and varnishes. After finishing work on the hairstyle, it is worth rubbing a few drops of your favorite hair oil into the hair tips, which will nourish it by penetrating inside. At the end of the day, be sure to wash your hair thoroughly to get rid of all chemicals from these cosmetics. Otherwise, during the next stylization, cosmetics residues and impurities could penetrate inside due to the temperature.
After each washing, use a moisturizing conditioner, and before drying, spike your hair with a silicone mist, which will further protect your hair. If the hair is very damaged, at least once a week, additional care should be carried out on it, i.e. oiling and applying regenerating masks.
