Perry Ellis perfumes Perry Ellis - Perry Ellis was born in 1940 in Wirgin in the United States. In the years 1963 - 1967 he worked at the Miller Rhodos department store in Richmond. In 1974 he became the fashion designer of Vera sports collections, and a year later he started selling his own brand. At the age of 46, he died, and in remembrance of him the Council of American Fashion Designers introduced a prize for young talents.
